Kapoor blimey (sorry!)

Went to see the Anish Kapoor’s exhibition on Saturday. An exceptional collection of scupture and istallation which invades the Royal Accademy. The work is organic and beautiful yet also quite dark and violent. Some of the pieces are conceptual genius. 'Shooting into the corner' is one such work - it involves a canon firing wax shells into the gallery wall at 50mph. The build up of said wax on the walls and floor looks stunning, as does the splattering on ceiling which is almost blood-like. It's somehow more satisfying to witness artwork that is still in progress and evolving over time - it's very inclusive and invites the viewer to feel part of the experience. The exhbition is hugely inspiring. Comes highly recommended but it's only on til Friday.
