What with all these darn online distractions it's gettin bloody hard to concentrate these days. I'm pretty sure that the procrastination culture has gone off the chart, clicking on strange sites, playing menial games and generally farting about online. Creating new and pointless ways to avoid doing any work is a sort of strange art form in it's own right too. My good copywriter friend John is an expert on the subject and a shining example unto us all. He even has a blog entitled ‘The Procrastination Station’, and somewhat fittingly he actually procrastinates from posting on it.
It's brilliant that creatives can get away with using their time sparingly: Staring out the window can be construed as 'thinking', even when what you're actually thinking about is 'What would win in a fight - a schizophrenic one-armed badger or a hermaphrodite otter with epilepsy?'
Then again maybe I'm romanticising the whole notion and procrastination is merely another word for laziness. Yep. So much time, so little accomplished.
A solution is upon us though. A website which turns your idle online browsing into money for charity. It's called ProcrasDonate.com and it's a cool little self-help concept to prevent yourself wasting time online, albeit with a worthy outcome should you stray into old habits.
Give it a go. Or watch some Mongolian dwarf wrestling, whatever.

I bloody did sir. Set me back a pretty penny, you're indebted to the tune of £3.45 and a jar of Ragu. As for the Tesco thing, I'm only game if Michael Greco and/or Fatima Whitbread are participating.
